My fascination with the Stamps line of my family 
began the first time I read the will of my 
Great-great-grandmother, Ketturah Stamps.  
At that time I only had names, but my names 
went back to the early 1600's in Virginia.  I 
have been using Family Tree Maker since the 
first version, but had procrastinated in upgrading.  
I also wasn't on the Internet so I figured the 
upgrade wouldn't help me that much.

When I finally got on the Internet and got the 3.4 
version it opened up the whole world of Genealogy 
for me.  It wasn't long until I bought the CD 
Volumes, and within an hour of receiving the first 
one I had located two lines that I had only had 
names before.  The results of this is on this page 
as well as my other pages.

John Thomas Stamps sailed for Virginia from the port 
of London on the ship "Plaine Joan" on the 15th May, 
1635.  He was born in Bruerne Abby, Oxon, England, 
in 1603 to Timothy Stampe and Marie (Mary) Gunner.  

Timothy Stampe was the son of William Stampe and 
Katherine Hyde of Burfford, England.  WIlliam Stampe 
was the son of Thomas Stampe and Joan Knapp of 
Bradfield Hall, Berkshire, England.  Thomas Stampe 
was the son of John Stampe and Sybil Plott of Cholsey, 
Berkshire, England.  John Stampe was the son of John 
Stampe and Elizabeth Coxe of Cholsey, Berkshire, England.
